Last October, NTA took the Denton Heart Walk by storm when we had our entire staff & their families come out to walk with us. This was our first year to participate  and we are so excited to walk again this year! As we talked with our community leaders and visited with families who had lost loved ones, we were inspired as ever to help the American Heart Association accomplish their mission.

The American Heart Association strives to prevent, treat, and defeat heart disease, stroke and cardiovascular diseases. Each year over 800,000 lives are taken as result of these deadly diseases. Heart disease and Stroke are currently listed as the Number 1 & 4  causes of American deaths, respectively.

So this year NTA is holding our very own Million Step challenge! In the months of August & September, our team will keep track of our steps daily by wearing pedometers in hopes of each individual reaching 10,00 steps per day. Starting in September leading up to the walk, NTA has committed to donate $1.00 for every 1,000 steps walked! Not only are we raising money and helping our hearts but we also hope to have some fun!

We are excited to start our fundraising efforts and we hope that our patients will consider joining us.

We hope to see everyone out on September 13, 2014 at UNT’s Apogee Stadium.
