Treatment options of arrhythmias include invasive therapies, surgery, implantable devices, lifestyle changes, medications or no treatment at all.

Medical management of arrhythmias have shown to be very effective in improving symptoms, decreasing stroke risk and convert arrhythmias to normal sinus rhythm. Medications to treat arrhythmias include heart rate and heart rhythm controlling medications. Other medications that may be prescribed are anticoagulants or antiplatelets and these are drugs that help to reduce the risk of stroke or development of blood clots that some arrhythmias may cause.

If we prescribe any of these medications, you will be carefully monitored and asked to return for regular checks to have your tests completed regularly.
